Nusa Dua reminds us of how elite it is by hosting lavish festival with a surprisingly hippie theme

Luxury and elite hotels can be found all over Bali, but Nusa Dua is the crème de la crème of Bali at its fanciest.

To remind everybody of that, the resorts of Nusa Dua will host the Nusa Dua Fiesta, a multi-day event to celebrate “culture, art, sports and, above all, fun,” according to a press release by the Courtyard Marriott hotel. 

The festival will run from October 10-14, 10 am to 10 pm and will center around the theme “Love, Peace and Harmony.” Apparently you don’t have to go to Ubud to be a hippie. The folks in Nusa Dua appreciate kum ba yah and free love too, so grab your designer patch-worked drop crotch pants and make for Nusa Dua this weekend. 

Performances can be expected from dance groups Kresna Arjuna Colosal and Kebo Iwa, music from Spain’s Ana Alcaide Ensemble, Mexico’s Israel Vareal Trio, Senegal’s Afronesia and Indonesia’s Navicula. Along with that lineup, you can expect culinary show-downs, stone carving, film and handcrafts.
