You Can Run, but You Can’t Hide: airport thief caught 2 months later at a Dunkin Donuts
Stories of pickpocketing and petty theft are nothing special, especially in a tourist hub like Bali, but stories where thieves are apprehended two months later in a Dunkin Donuts are cause for a little more excitement.
Two months ago, a German citizen, identified only with the initials SK, had his waist-belt bag stolen at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, on July 26. That bag was a yahtzee for the thief: it held the manās passport and 20,250 euros, according to a story posted by Bali Discovery.
However, hereās a story of the police doing their work with due diligence. After two months, police were able to track down the thief to his residence in Seminyak by using CCTV footage from the airport.
The thief was arrested at Dunkin Donuts on Jl. Teuku Umar. He later confessed that we went all out with the stolen money. He used it to buy a car, motorcycle, send money to family and friends and make personal bank deposits.
The thief works at a laundry shop in Bali, so once he was outed, there must have been a major āa-haā moment for his friends and family after all those lucrative purchases he recently made. They were probably just relieved the laundry shop wasnāt a front for drugs.
