Now it’s AirAsia: flights connecting Bali to Oz coming on like gang busters

Aussies will have something to rejoice about this Christmas season: Bali-Melbourne will be one of AirAsia Extra’s first routes to launch on December 26.

The airline has announced that it will service Bali to Melbourne five times a week with its new Indonesia AirAsia X franchise. Other than bargain hunter Aussie travelers, “newly-minted” Indonesian travelers headed to Oz for the first time are expected to fly this route.

AirAsia X’s announcement comes right after VirginAustralia announced that it’s considering using its newly purchased Tigerair low-budget arm to service cheap flights from Perth to Bali

Another budget rival, Jetstar was a hot topic on Facebook today with it’s supposedly special prices too.

It’s a competitive market for these budget airlines to link Oz and Bali. Hopefully that means we’ll be able to find more cheap flights!
