Motocross stage collapses in Buleleng, 13 injured

A stage at the Motocross National Championship in Buleleng collapsed yesterday afternoon around 2 pm, injuring 13 people in the process. 

The entertainment stage gave in when spectators crowded the two-level stage, which was more than the structure could handle.

Kubutambahan police chief, AKP I Wayan Sueca said organizers were concerned about the stage before the incident and even reminded audience members not to rush the stage. However, apparently the appeal was ignored by some audience members. 

The 13 injured people were immediately rushed to the Buleleng hospital RSUD.

Sueca says police are requesting information from the committee about the incident and that the committee should be accountable to the victims.
